On A Beach In Hawaii

Sunset over the Pacific Ocean from the lovely Pu’Uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park, Hawaii. I love my cold winter days here in Montana but its hard to resist the urge to go somewhere warm.

Photography Tip: Silhouettes can be a powerful graphic element in a color photograph. One of the hardest things to learn in photography is that the camera cannot see anything like the range of contrast that the human eye can see. When I am shooting in very high contrast scenes, like at sunset, I often try to include darker objects that will hold their visual power even if my exposure renders them as inky black shapes.
